At CVRG, giving back to our community is something we make a priority in both our professional and personal lives. We believe in supporting causes close to our hearts and are dedicated to participating in our community. Our team looks forward to the annual events that we share together as it truly builds us up and keeps our hearts grateful.
As a team, we support Children's Miracle Network and Dorcas. Giving back our time, energy and resources helps to build stronger and more vibrant communities and serves to keep us focused on the most important things in life.
A portion of every one of our commissions goes to Children's Miracle Network and all the money raised stays local at Duke Children's Hospital. Christina and her husband, Andy, own the local Dairy Queens and together contribute and raise around $25k each year to give back to CMN. Miracle Treat Day is one of their favorite days of the year. On Miracle Treat day, all of their proceeds are donated to CMN. Andy and Christina bring the ice cream cart to Duke Children's Hospital and walk the halls to give a DQ treat to all the children, their families, nurses, and the staff.

Dorcas Ministries has been meeting the needs of our neighbors in financial crisis for over 50 years. Their mission is to provide residents emergency assistance for their essential human needs, including shelter, clothing, food, fuel, transportation and medical care. We are honored to help contribute to the beautiful work they do within our community. A couple of years ago we started donating Thanksgiving pies for families in need and have donated over 300 pies to families within our community to enjoy on Thanksgiving.
We asked our team member what giving back means to them. Here is what they had to say.
"Investing in our community and our people here locally means so much to me! Giving back our talents, time and resources is a core part of who we are at CVRG. "When looking for a firm to join it was important to me to align myself with a team who gives back to the community that provides us all with so much. Volunteer days with Dorcas & Miracle League are some of our team's favorite days of the year. I'm also proud of the fact that my colleagues and I donate a portion of each and every commission to support CMN. My own family and I are grateful to have been introduced to the Family Promise organization through our church. Their mission is helping families experiencing temporary homelessness to achieve self-sufficiency and safe, affordable, permanent housing. Our church serves as an emergency shelter host and my husband, kids and I enjoy cooking and serving meals to the guest families." -Courtney
"I participate in a walk every year for Preclampisia to support my friend who lost a child due to it. I also donate every year." -Katie
"I love be a part of a company where giving back is a core part of who we are. In addition to what we do at CVRG, I participate in the Jingle Bell Run each year to support Juvenile Arthritis which is in support of my best friend's son. I'm also a member of Bayleaf Baptist Church!" -Jenni
